National Wear Red Day® is Friday, February 2, 2018

Support Go Red For Women by participating in National Wear Red Day® on Friday, February 2, 2018 and show your support for American Heart Association during American Heart Month.

Heart Month
The first American Heart month took place in February 1964. At that time more than half of the deaths in the United States were caused by cardiovascular disease. According to the American Heart Association(AHA) 220.8 per 100,000 is the overall rate of death attributable to CVD based on 2014 data. On average, someone died of CVD every 40 seconds. That is about 2,200 deaths from CVD each day. Cardiovascular disease includes stroke and CVD remains the leading global cause of death with more than 17.3 million deaths each year. The AHA website has much more information and statistics available. Use the information to help you keep that New Year’s resolution for a healthier New Year.

Knowing CPR can give a person in cardiac arrest a chance at survival. On February 24th from 1000 – 2pm the Squad is holding a Hands Only CPR OPEN House at our Training Center located at 475 Aquia Town Center drive, Suite 109. Come learn CPR free to everyone. Children need to be at least 12 years old. Learn the basics and maybe you will want a certification class later. You just might save a life by learning. Send me an e-mail on the squad website or just show up. The instruction only takes about 20 minutes.
